Found wood, weeds, lights, hardware

Damemoto was built in Hiroshima, Japan as part of an exchange program between Texas Christian University, and Hiroshima City University. When the 2011 tsunami hit the northern coast of Japan, the waves ripped four dock floats from their pilings. One made the incredible journey across 5,000 miles of ocean and washed up on an Oregon beach. Using reclaimed wood from Japan, I built a 25 foot boat dock, in a gesture of support. By using forced perspective the dock appears to bridge the gap between the two countries .
