Bradly Brown is an interdisciplinary artist based in Houston, Texas, working across sculpture, installation, photography, drawing, and video. Much of his work begins with ordinary, overlooked materials, such as matchbooks, found notebook paper, floor fans and beach balls, copper wire stripped from internet cable, and debris from the 2011 Tohoku earthquake, and recontextualizes them as something whimsical, otherworldly, or quietly critical. The work asks viewers to adjust their perspective and let go of their assumptions about what they are looking at.
His work has been shown at venues including Fort Worth Contemporary Arts, the Southeast Museum of Photography, Hiroshima City University, Conduit Gallery, The Dallas Contemporary, and the 2023 SPHERE Salón Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo in Mexico City, as well as the 2014 Dallas Biennial and the 2013 Berlin-Becher Triennial. Below is a selection of artworks and exhibitions from 2002 to the present.
